We went to Les Arcs in January for 2 weeks.  We got the Paradiski passes and went skiing all around the Les Arcs and La Plagne ski areas which are now connected by a giant cable-car
Another trip in March with 8 days skiing in the "3 Vallees". We stayed in Val Thorens but were skiing the whole area including Courchevel and Meribel.

This season we had two excellent skiing trips : Les Arcs/La Plagne in January and Tignes/Val d'Isere in March.
Last season was brilliant too.  We had 8 days skiing in Tignes France in March 2012 : a great week with some fresh snow and a lot of sunshine.  Before that I went to Les Arcs France in January 2012 - excellent conditions !
I always go with Skiworld ( They have great service, excellent chalets, reasonable prices and very friendly people : highly recommended ! Super late offers too ...
I very strongly recommend SKIWORLD for skiing & snowboarding holidays. In January 2012 I made my 40th trip with Skiworld with a total of 50 weeks. It was also special in that I broke my skiing distance record with 130.66 km in one day in Les Arcs/La Plagne, recorded on GPS, with 14,578 metres descent !
Now we are looking forward to the next trip. I can say that on every trip the Skiworld service in resort and at head office was truly excellent. Probably nobody knows this better than I do ! Also, when enquiring by phone, the call is answered very quickly (unusual these days). The company has grown significantly over the years, yet it remains independent and keeps its friendly can-do attitude. This shows in the high morale and cheerful attitude in the resort teams. I have been to many resorts in France and USA and they are all consistent. Skiworld is also very cost-effective, considering the quality of accommodation, service and food in the chalets. Look on the website for last-minute offers and special deals - many bargains to be had !
March 2012
We had 8 days skiing in Tignes, France and had a great time covering all of Tignes and Val d'Isere.  Although the sun was very strong, we had some fresh snow on the second day and some lower temperature for a few days.  At the end of the week it was getting warm again under a firce sun.

I had 8 days skiing in Les Arcs, France in mid-Jan. There were 6 days of sunshine and clear blue sky, followed by huge snowfalls. Excellent variation of conditions !

05 January 2011
We had a very quiet Christmas. In the summer we had booked a week skiing in Val Thorens (3 Vallees) France from 26th Dec and we went off and did that. I was feeling a bit rough but I kept going and we had a good week skiing. Gula is doing really well now and happy whizzing down red runs.
2 weeks skiing in Les Arcs in Jan/Feb 2010 via Eurostar Direct Overnight
(one train direct to Alps).
30 Jan 2010 : we are on a 2 week skiing trip in Les Arcs France.
It has been excellent so far with fresh snow and some sunny days. Last night a lot of snow fell but the avalanche risk was high due to high winds. Once they had cleared the mountains with explosives, the powder snow was great. Temperature of -12c kept the snow good.

Gula is now skiing red runs ! Amazing progress ...

Great skiing trip : 8 days in Courchevel / 3 Vallees in March !
We started with sunshine and had a couple of foggy days but towards the end of the week there was a fantastic snowfall. On the last Saturday we had perfect conditions with deep fresh snow and sunshine. It was Gula's first ski holiday and she made amazing progress and was skiing parallel on blues and easy reds by the end of the week !

18 January 2009 - back from skiing in Tignes France
I had 8 days skiing (via overnight Eurostar Direct). Cold with sun and blue sky every day. OK, no fresh powder but great for covering huge distances ast speed. The base remains good and now there is fresh snow out there.
14 April 2008 - back from skiing in Les Arcs, France
I had 8 days skiing (via overnight Eurostar/Snowtrain and "Skiworld").
Really great conditions for first 4 days, then a bit warm and slushy, finishing off with a great day on Saturday with fresh snow and lower temperature. No rocks and no queues !

20 March 2008 - Chimbulak Kazakhstan
I was invited to go skiing at Chimbulak near Almaty in Kazakhstan on Thursday 20 March. I was already there on business and as my shift offiically finished the day before, I decided to seize the opportunity. The snow was excellent and the sun was shining so we had a great 4 hours skiing.

16 Feb 2008 - completed 2 weeks skiing in Colorado
It was sometimes cold and windy but we got plenty of fresh snow with some epic powder days in Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail and Beaver Creek. Another trip is planned for Arc 2000 in April.
My other favourites are Jackson Hole, Trois Vallees, Les Arcs and Tignes. I'm crazy about skiing and usually do between 90km and 115km a day on the GPS.
Feb 08 : Breckenridge with fresh snow
Jan 07 : My famous run in Vail Back Bowls(revisited in Feb 2008)
